Terms of Use: Student Submissions
By submitting a project to the Global Young Innovators STEAM Fest (the “Event”), you agree to the following terms and conditions.
Special Conditions for Minor Submissions
If you are under 18 years of age, you must have the consent of your parent or legal guardian to participate. By submitting a project, your parent or legal guardian acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Use on your behalf. Your submission is not considered valid until EBI has received a completed and signed parental consent form.
1. Submission Rights and Ownership
You and your team (the “Innovator”) retain full ownership of all intellectual property rights to the project and its underlying technology, including any original research or patentable information contained within your PDF submission.
2. Grant of License
By submitting your project, you grant Expanding Boundaries International (EBI) and its partners a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use your video entry, project title, abstract, and project images. This license allows EBI to display, reproduce, and distribute these materials for the sole purpose of promoting the Event, its mission, and its participants on our websites, social media channels, and in other promotional materials.
- Confidentiality of PDFs: We understand the importance of protecting your intellectual property. PDF submissions containing original research, patent information, or other intellectual property will not be displayed publicly or shared without your explicit written permission.
3. Compliance with Rules
You acknowledge and agree that your submission must fully comply with all the official rules of the STEAM Grand Challenge. This includes but is not limited to:
- All submissions must be in English.
- Only one entry per student or team.
- No AI-generated work can be submitted as your own original creation.
- Submissions must be free of external links, files, or videos in the first round.
- The content must be your original work or content for which you have the rights to use.
- Submissions must not include any identifiable personal information.
- Content must not include inappropriate, hateful, or harmful material, or infringe on the rights of others.
- No defamatory content regarding EBI, a political party, or any individual or entity is allowed.
- Submissions should avoid sensitive topics, such as religious or political messages.
- No content involving personal information of individuals under 13 unless parental consent is obtained.
Failure to comply with these rules may lead to immediate disqualification at EBI’s discretion.
4. Release of Liability
By submitting your project, you agree to hold EBI and its affiliates, volunteers, and partners harmless from any and all claims, damages, or liabilities that may arise if it is later found that you did not fully comply with these terms. EBI reserves the right to assess the appropriateness of all submissions at any time.
