Global Young Innovators STEAM Fest FAQ
About the Event
The Global Young Innovators STEAM Fest is a dynamic event designed to inspire and showcase the talents of young minds in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). It’s a platform for innovation, creativity, and collaboration.
The event will take place on July 11, 2026, from 9am to 4pm Ghana time, at the Kibi Presbyterian College of Education in Ghana.
The festival is open to:
- Professionals and businesses who want to showcase their work and inspire the next generation.
- Kids and teens, whether in school or not, to present their projects.
- Creative artists, musicians, and performers to demonstrate the connection between art and innovation.
Yes, the event is free and open to the public.
Attendees can expect:
- Competitions: STEAM-focused challenges for all ages.
- Live Performances: Music, art, and entertainment throughout the day.
- Interactive Workshops: Hands-on learning experiences led by experts.
- Exhibitions: Showcasing cutting-edge projects and inventions.
- Food and Drinks: A variety of food vendors and food trucks will be available for purchase by attendees.
Competition Format & Timeline
Projects can be submitted in one of two formats:
- Scientific Method Report
- Engineering Method Report
Phase 1: Project Submission
- All individuals and teams must submit a comprehensive report via the event’s online portal. You can view the challenge guide for more details.
- Submission Deadline: Feb 20, 2026
Phase 2: Video Submission
- After reviewing the initial reports, judges will select the top 20 projects from each category (40 total) as official semifinalists on April 10th.
- Semifinalists must submit a 3 to 5-minute short video showcasing their project.
- Video Submission Deadline: April 15, 2026
Phase 3: Grand Finalist Notification
- The judges will select the top 10 projects from each category to be Grand Finalists, based on their reports and videos.
- Grand Finalist Notification: May 30, 2026
Phase 4: Live Exhibition & Public Presentation (on July 11, 2026)
- Semifinalist Exhibition: All 40 semifinalist groups will have a table at the festival to exhibit their projects.
- Grand Finalist Public Presentation: The 20 Grand Finalists (top 10 from each category) will present their projects on the main stage. Each finalist will have 5 minutes to present to a live audience, followed by a 3-minute Q&A with the judges.
